Faith, science, and the wager for reality: Meillassoux and Ricœur on post-Kantian realism

چکیده
This article compares two attempts to return realism after Kant’s ‘Copernican Revolution’. Quentin Meillassoux, representing the ‘speculative realism’ school, rejects both Kantian and post-Kantian idealism in favour of a materialism based on epistemology modern sciences. But Meillassoux is unaware element choice his philosophical position, he does not solve essential problem posed by which concerns place subject being. Ricœur, other hand, sublates Kant deeper embrace finitude that leads self-displacement subject, ‘Second Copernican Revolution’, one freely admits can only be arrived at Jaspersian ‘Philosophical Faith’. The concludes showing how crossing border into theological faith offers virtue-ethical perspective question idealism: it fact between childlike humility receives reality as is, an arrogant self-positing puts position God.
